St Michael Church

The church was built in the XVIIIth century (1757). Located in the heart of the town, St Michael Church presents a baroque style and houses many treasures:

The organ of the Grinda Brothers (restored in 1982) belongs to the listed buildings since 1990. It counts among the oldest oragan in the Alpes-Maritimes department (1790). This masterpiece of french production adopts for some sonorities italian techniques.

The high altar, the tiers, the communion's table are worked in the local stone with marble incrustations. Behind the altar, a large painting represents St Michael, the Patron Saint. A life-size laying Christ, carved in a single piece of fig wood, the face marked with serenity, shows the deep-seated belief of an unknown galley slave as the legend says.
